Translucent: Painting - elastic and transparent

Silicontexts are dancing playful from the ceiling, out of decorative frames aquarelled figures are posing over soft floral carpets.

Consequently Peter Ojstersek conquers space with his installative painting. He leaves the action radius of wall and transforms - in the air and on the floor – treepassable, elastic carpets and filigree text-networks. The artists takes the liberty to open up the classical perfection of the Aquarelle technique through fragmenting his formats and extending the painting into a medium of three dimensionality and of space. Visual bridge is the transparency, inside the glazing technique as well as within the silicon material.

Inspired by the information flood of visual worlds and the daily surroundings the Berlin based Swedish artist composes his motives collage like. “They all tune together of the message that spells the joy of acknowledging the bits and parts, the details and nuances of our being in the world”, states Mika Hanulla.

Peter Ojstersek, born 1961 in Göteborg, lives since 1993 in Berlin . After his master at the UdK Berlin 1997 he received different fellowships and grants such as Karl-Hofer-Gesellschaft, Künstlerhäuser Schloß Wiepersdorf and Eckernförde, Art Grant Committee Sweden , Längmarknska Kulturfonden and Ebba & Gustaf Ljunggrens Foundation. 2007 Ojstersek successfully finished a big art-and-architecture project for a health centre in Laholm , Sweden and is teaching in the  Konsthögskolan Valand Göteborg, Sweden .
